Inks for Polypropylene, Correx and other
plastics
Dynapoll screen inks are a
range of inks designed to have excellent adhesion to untreated polypropylene
and most types polyethylene injection moulded articles and sheets.
They are resistant to many chemicals, including bleach, alkalis,
motor oils, detergents and weak acids. These inks dry to a scuff
resistant satin finish. All colours are lead free and may be suitable
for toys. It has been found that many difficult to print plastics
may also be successfully printed.
Correx screen inks have been
formulated specifically to print onto fluted polyolefin sheet. They
may be air or jet dried to a glossy finish with excellent adhesion
and exterior durability. These inks have outstanding screen stability,
making them suitable for semi-automatic and manual printing. All
colours are lightfast and possess a very low odour. The process
colours may be dried using cool air only from the drier, thus reducing
registration problems.
Estercoat screen inks are formulated
to print on to Polyester materials such as Mylar, Melinex and certain
embossable materials. These inks are transparent and produce brilliant
effects on metallised materials.
Polycure inks are a range of
two pack screen inks formulated for printing treated polyethylene,
polypropylene bottles and some metals. These inks have excellent
gloss and adhesion. They possess excellent product and rub resistance.
PRE-TREATMENT: For satisfactory adhesion to be maintained it is
essential that containers are pre-treated, preferably immediately
prior to the printing operation. Propane or Butane/Air flame pre-treatments
are recommended. Because of variations in polyethylene container
mouldings, a test should be carried out on each batch of containers
prior to the production run.
